I'm Kelli Femrite — Advanced Shamanic Practitioner known in this work as Flame Within the Womb, Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher, founder of Unbound Healing Arts, and the writer behind the Unschooling Motherhood Diaries.
But before any of those titles, I was just a woman who hit a point in her life where the old way of doing things simply stopped working.
The Unraveling
For years, I lived the way most of us are taught to: follow the plan, meet the expectations, keep the peace, keep moving. I was successful by every conventional measure. And I was also, quietly, coming undone.
It started long before I had the language for it — a restlessness, a sense that something essential in me was waiting to be let out. Becoming a mother cracked it open further. My daughter, Emma, is autistic with a PDA (Persistent Demand for Autonomy) profile and ADHD — and parenting her the way the systems around us expected simply didn't work. Not because something was wrong with her. Because the systems were never built for kids like her.
So we chose differently. We unschooled. We built a life around her actual needs instead of a curriculum designed for someone else's child. It wasn't always understood by the people around us. It was, and still is, one of the most sovereign choices I've ever made.
Following the Pull
I had always felt pulled toward the mystical — toward intuition, energy, the unseen world that most of us are taught to ignore. In 2023, I trained as a Holy Fire Reiki Master, the first formal step into work I'd felt calling me for years.
Then Grief Found Me
In September 2025, after 4 months of fighting with everything I had to help her heal, I lost my mother and biggest supporter, Laura, following a cardiac event and severe anoxic brain injury from loss of oxygen to her brain. There is no roadmap for that kind of loss. It rearranges you from the inside out.
Grief became its own teacher. It forced me to sit with everything I'd been carrying — not just my mother's death, but the patterns, the silences, and the inheritances that had been passed down through the women in my family long before me. I started to understand grief not as something to get through, but as a doorway. A place where the veil gets thin enough to finally see what's actually been calling you.
That grief is what carried me deeper into this work — into completing my Advanced Shamanic Practitioner training under Maestra Wyzdom Dvine at the Wyzdom DVine Mystery School, where I was given the name Flame Within the Womb — a name about healing my lineage backward and forward, not only for myself, but for every woman in my line who never got the chance to do this work.
Today, that training — Reiki and shamanic work both — lives inside everything I offer: Shamanic Healing Sessions, Reiki, and the deep, ancestral work of helping women come back into their own knowing.
Why I Built What I Built
Everything I've created since — Unbound Healing Arts, UNBOUND Publishing Co., the Unschooling Motherhood Diaries — exists because I needed these spaces myself and couldn't find them anywhere else.
I needed somewhere to do the spiritual and energetic work of healing the parts of me grief and motherhood had cracked open. That became Unbound Healing Arts — Shamanic Healing Sessions, Reiki, and the spiritual mentorship I now offer other women walking similar paths.
I needed somewhere to finally write the truth of what I'd lived — the grief, the unschooling, the unraveling and rebuilding. That became my own writing, and eventually UNBOUND Publishing Co., so other women carrying stories that deserve to exist in print would have somewhere to bring them too.
And I needed community — other parents who understood what it actually looks like to raise a neurodivergent child outside the systems everyone else trusts blindly. That became the Unschooling Motherhood Diaries.
What I Believe
I believe healing ourselves and healing the world are not two separate things. I believe grief is not something to rush through, but a teacher in its own right. I believe motherhood doesn't have to look like what we were handed — and that breaking a cycle quietly, every single day, is its own kind of revolution. And I believe every woman carries a knowing inside her that the world has spent years trying to talk her out of, and that knowing is worth coming home to.
If you're here, some part of you probably already knows why.
I'm glad you found your way home.
With Love,
Kelli Femrite, Advanced Shamanic Practitioner ("Flame Within the Womb"), Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher, and Fierce Mama Advocate for E.
