If you are a parent who has taken it upon yourself to take a different path in both parenting and education, and you have stepped outside the mainstream to honor your kids’ unique ways of being in the world, then this project is for you.
The stories will highlight the struggles of doing things differently, and the criticism from other parents, educators and administrators. Each story will feature a "turning point," a way that you as a parent took a different path to honor your child's unique needs.
Stories around Neurodivergence will be prioritized, especially Autism, PDA and ADHD, but all neurodiversities will be accepted.

The mission is to reach families who have an interest in unschooling and alternative pathways. The more families that realize mainstream schooling is not the best way for our children to learn, the better off we’ll be with future generations creating their own pathways forward. The goal is to spread awareness and to teach the reader there is a better way for our kids to be honored for their unique gifts and neurodiversities.

My goal for this project is to both spread awareness, and to highlight neurodivergent families’ alternative pathways and feature stories from parents who are doing things differently for their families. Too often we see the typical career-path families highlighted online. I want this to be a movement, spreading the word that alternative, self-made pathways exist to raising kids and fulfilling their curiosities and growth in the world. It’s not about standard curriculums or standardized tests - those things are distractions and only exist for compliance-based systems to maintain compliance. They don’t exist for the kids’ highest goods. It's time we started creating pathways for our kids to thrive in their own unique ways, not measured by a system that doesn't have their best interest at heart.
What's Included
This is a multi-author book project that will be published via self-publishing. Each author will be featured in a separate chapter of the book anthology, with a word count of either 650, 1200, or 3000 words.
The entry fee will be for administrative/publishing and editing and marketing costs. There will be 3 tiers of accessible pricing. The accessible pricing will be reserved for families in financial need - no questions asked.
For regular pricing, 650 words will be $222, 1200 words will be $444 and 3000 words will be $888. Accessible pricing will be offered upon request. Flexible payment plans are always available.
We will publish through Publish Drive to multiple book distribution channels.
The book will be marketed on Substack, and each author will be provided marketing materials to market on their own channels.
All book cover designs, editing, publishing and administrative tasks etc. will be done by Unbound Publishing Co. The fees for enrolling in the project will go towards these costs and to paying contractors for fees associated with the creation, editing and publishing of the anthology.

This project is a part of my bigger mission with Unbound Publishing and the Unschooling Motherhood Diaries. You do not have to follow outside sources to guide your lives. Your inner resources and intuition are right there waiting for you to awaken. And when you can follow your intuition and guide your lives based on your inner guidance, rather than outside advice, that is when you become the empowered leaders of your own lives. When you become empowered leaders of your own lives, you lead by example for your children. They see that you create your own realities, and it inspires them to create their own realities. Generation after generation, you can spread this awareness and create a new way of being in the world that does not rely on the “system” to guide you. The new way forward is creative entrepreneurship, breaking free from the capitalistic system, and forging new paths forward for yourselves and families. And women in leadership and running businesses is the beginning stages of this new way forward.

Will I own my rights to my original content in this book?
Yes, absolutely. You own your rights to your original published work. There will be limitations, however, on republishing the work in the same exact capacity as the original. You will be able to reuse your original language, etc. however in social media posts and on your personal blogs or substack articles, etc.
Are there any live Q&A sessions or author coaching sessions during the book publishing process?
Yes, there will be Q&A Sessions to explain the book publishing process and guidelines, as well as group coaching sessions for all authors to ask questions, obtain writing guidance, and network and chat with fellow authors.
Can I participate in this anthology if I am a first-time author?
Absolutely! This is a perfect-fit project for both first-time authors and those who have previously published a book and are looking to share your story around your children's alternative pathways with the world.
What is the cost to become an author in this anthology?
To publish a 650-word chapter the cost will be $222, a 1200-word chapter will be $444 and a 3000-word chapter will be $888.
Will I be paid author royalties for my contribution to this anthology?
Yes, you will be paid for author royalties. When the book is published, each author will receive royalties based on sales. Note royalties do take a while to come in typically 12-24 months. But Unbound Publishing will be very transparent and provide reports every 6 months to show authors how the book is selling. The main purpose of the book is visibility and spreading awareness. However I will always be transparent about any royalties that come in and distribute accordingly to authors.
What if I want to continue with UNBOUND Publishing to get my book published?
After we publish the anthology there will be an opportunity to continue working together in the capacity that best fits your needs as an indie author. At UNBOUND Publishing, we honor our authors first and we take into consideration your needs and budget, so there will always be a way to work together no matter what stage of your author's journey you are currently in.
